Michael McNevin

Michael McNevin's songs read like short stories, full of heart, humor, and a keen eye for detail. Accomplished guitar work and seasoned vocals underscore the characters and places he comes across in his travels - conversations, odd jobs, narrow escapes, teenage years to old man years. A scarecrow in love, a busking clown on a Michigan lake, a trailer mechanic in Barstow, all topics that populate his story songs.

Michael grew up in the train town of Niles, CA, where Charlie Chaplin filmed The Tramp, and where the first set of railroad tracks entered the SB Bay Area in 1869. It’s like Mayberry with a head shop. Some of Michael’s songs draw from town quirks and adventures.

Michael has shared stages with the likes of Johnny Cash & The Carter Family, Donovan, Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens, Robert Earl Keen, Iris Dement, Rosanne Cash, Greg Brown, and many others. He’s been a main-stager at numerous festivals to include Kerrville, Strawberry and High Sierra.
